Getting Started

During your booking appointment a lot of time will be spent getting to know one another, but also gathering information such as general medical information, social history, previous pregnancies if any, personal preferences relevant to your journey and any other valuable and related information.

All of this will; help us all work together and plan ahead, help us empower and support you better and it will also allow for a timeline of appointments to be agreed between you and your midwife and to be made available to you early on for your convenience and reassurance.

 We will also explore your wants and needs with regards to any screening in pregnancy and help you access any of them if wished for.

 You can expect this appointment to happen when is best convenient to you, in the comfort of your own home with anyone you wish to be present there with you and for it to last a good few hours. What better way to start getting to know your midwife?!

Antenatal Appointments for 12+ Weeks

Antenatal appointments for 12 - 28 weeks of pregnancy.

During these weeks of your pregnancy we welcome an appointment with your midwife once every 4 weeks. Here at The Nurture Mama, we like to encourage plenty of opportunities for us to meet and feel connected, and obviously to check in on you and your baby.

Antenatal appointments at these gestations will include holistic checking in on your physical adjustments to pregnancy as well as your mental health. We will also be ensuring any screening you may wish for takes place and or any referrals are sent off and followed up if wished for.

And last but not least, we will of course offer you the wonderful opportunity to hear your baby’s heartbeat.

Antenatal Appointments for 30+ Weeks

Antenatal appointments for 30 - 36 weeks of pregnancy.

During these weeks of your pregnancy we welcome an appointment with your midwife once every 2 weeks. The Antenatal appointments will include all of the above with the added care that will be measuring your baby’s growth. We will also be encouraging an important focus on birth preferences and preparing your mindset for your birth and beyond.

Antenatal Appointments for 36 - 42 Weeks

Antenatal appointments for 36 – 42 weeks of pregnancy.

At this stage in your pregnancy we welcome appointments every week. We feel happy to be regularly checking in with you, including all the routine components of the antenatal appointments you will come to know well, but also finalising your preferences and preparations for birth, leaving you feeling confident and full of self-trust in order to nurture your birth experience.

Holistic Care and Support

Are you hoping for a more holistic approach to your pregnancy? If so, rest assured that we are perfect for you!

We will always hold space for you and keep you & your baby at the centre of everything we do, with you and for you. This is only the beginning of it. Our care for you will be entirely led by yourself, with us listening to your wishes, getting to know your preferences and using this to shape our care and support for you.

You will receive most if not all of your care from us in the comfort of your own home, your own personal safe space! Your home, will over time become a mutual ground where we will have developed an incredible bond, built on trust and understanding, evolving your safe space, nurturing you and positively shaping your whole experience.

“I’m interested. How much does the Antenatal package cost?”

Our Antenatal Midwifery Care and Support Package will cost you £1350.

You may wish to pay for your care package in full at your booking appointment. Or, you may wish to pay a deposit of £700 at your booking appointment, followed by the remaining £650 in any number of instalments of your choice by your 35th week of pregnancy. Whichever is most convenient to you and please do get in touch if you wish to discuss payment possibilities further.

"Do I need to start with the Antenatal package?"

Yes, this is ideal but not essential. This is because, here at The Nurture Mama, we value complete continuity of care and having the time to develop a protected rapport with you. In order to uphold our values when providing you a service, we certainly recommend a minimal degree of involvement with you antenatally. You can choose what package is right for you, however, we recommend our Antenatal, Combined or Complete midwifery packages for complete continuity of care.

"How easy will it be for me to get hold of my midwife?"

Here at The Nurture Mama, we value transparency and accessibility. During initial discussions, you can express the ways you feel most comfortable conversing when not in person and we will always endeavour to keep communications flowing when required. Whether for you, that looks like a phone call, text, video call, or even emails, we'll communicate with you in the way you're most comfortable. We are also proud to offer anyone with a midwifery care and support package, 24/7 access to your named midwife.
